Dr. Meixiang Zhou

Dr. Meixiang Zhou is currently a Deputy Director-General of the Finance Centre for South-South Cooperation based in Hong Kong, China, and a senior Social Development Consultant to the World Bank.

She has engaged in development investment for more than 10 years with the World Bank, and 6 years with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and British Department for International Development (DFID) project in China. Her expertise is mainly in social and sustainable development and investment as well as project management. As a development practitioner, Dr. Zhou has been providing advisory services in social development areas for over 60 World Bank invested projects in China and more than 10 other counties. She has been actively facilitating South-South cooperation between China and many other developing countries in Asia and Africa through joint projects. Dr. Zhou’s research is mainly focused on resettlement, social inclusion, poverty reduction and economic transition. She has done researches with many Chinese and international think tanks, top universities in China, America and the United Kingdom.

Meixiang Zhou holds a Ph.D. at the University of Manchester, UK.
