The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Korea International Cooperation Agency would like to invite you to the ’15th Seoul ODA International Conference’ to be held in Seoul on 1 September 2022.
The theme of the 15th Seoul ODA International Conference is ‘Expanding the horizon for global development partnerships. Today, the international community is facing complex global challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, and the spread of regional conflicts. In particular, amid rapid changes in the international development environment, it is becoming more important than ever to strengthen partnerships with various development actors, including emerging donors, and promote innovative international development cooperation. Therefore, this conference will be a good opportunity to discuss new development cooperation partnerships and the role of donors in resolving global issues.
Since its launch in 2007, the Seoul ODA International Conference has become a leading platform for development experts, scholars, and policymakers around the globe to share knowledge and exchange views about the current issues in international development.
This year’s conference also comes at a time when Korea is seeking to expand its role as a “global pivotal state” by playing a more active role in resolving global challenges. Against this backdrop, the theme of the 15th Seoul ODA International Conference will be “Expanding Horizons for Global Development Partnership.” The topics of the conference are (i) Global Pivotal State: Charting a New Path for Korea’s Development Cooperation in an Era of Global Uncertainty; (ii) New Emerging Donors, Changing Landscape; (iii) Exchanging Knowledge, Embracing New Experiences; and (iv) Incorporating Diversity, Broadening Partnerships.
