Carola is the focal point in the UN World Food Programme (WFP) on South-South and triangular cooperation (SSTC) and works in the Policy and Programme Division (OSZ). She has been the lead author of WFP’s Policy on South-South and Triangular Cooperation which has been approved successfully by WFP’s Executive Board in May 2015.

Her focus is now on strengthening the capacities of WFP Country Offices, Regional Bureaus and WFP Centres of Excellence in facilitating SSTC, as well as coordinating WFP’s global partnerships and engagement with other UN partners in this area of work. Prior to joining WFP, Carola has been working with the German Development Agency (GIZ) in Ethiopia on sustainable land management, with UNDP in Panama and New York on global partnerships for effective development cooperation and country capacity strengthening for sustainable development, and with the private sector (Robert Bosch GmbH) on environmental management. She holds a Masters’ Degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science and is a national of
Germany.
