By February 26, 2020 March 10th, 2020 News

About:

Since 2016, the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), along with Member States, UN agencies, and other development partners have jointly been developing the “Good Practices in South-South and Triangular Cooperation for Sustainable Development” publication which features initiatives that contribute to the achievement of SDGs, while illustrating the central tenets of effective South-South and triangular cooperation. This publication series has been welcomed by Member States and other non-state actors as an exercise that could be used to support developing countries to share knowledge, and connect with one another to address similar development challenges. You can access our 2018 and 2016 Good Practices publications here.

Call for Submission

UNOSSC, in collaboration with UN agencies, Member States and institutions, is now developing the third volume of the publication.   The publication is will be launched on United Nations Day for South-South Cooperation in September 2020.

As in the previous volumes, this upcoming volume will once again feature Southern good practices that are relevant to the implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  The objective is to demonstrate how South-South cooperation and triangular cooperation can support countries to overcome shared challenges and accelerate progress towards sustainable development. It aims to benefit developing countries seeking to scale up South-South and triangular cooperation initiatives.

We would like to invite you to submit up to five good South-South and triangular cooperation practices in your area of work that you would like to be considered in the third volume and to be featured on South-South Galaxy.  Please review the attached submission guidance form to assist you in identifying good practices your organization or government supports as they relate to South-South cooperation and embody the spirit of solidarity and collective efforts. I have enclosed the link to the Good Practices in South-South and Triangular Cooperation database on South-South Galaxy which you can use as a reference for your submission.

How to submit:

We would like you to kindly submit your good practices by filling out the Good Practices template enclosed and by uploading it via South-South Galaxy.   By uploading your solutions directly to South-South Galaxy, you will be the solution owner of your respective good practices in which users of the Galaxy will be able to connect directly with you for learning and collaboration opportunities.  You will also be able to make updates to your good practices as you achieve further milestones. If you are new to South-South Galaxy, please create an account.  If you already have an account, you will need to log in.

Kindly send the good practices that you would like to be considered for inclusion in the third volume to Shams Banihani at shams.banihani@unossc.org with a copy to Naveeda Nazir at naveeda.nazir@unossc.org; and Raphael Avelar at raphael.avelar@unossc.org by 15 March 2020.

Looking forward to your submissions and working together to accelerate the achievement of the SDGs through South-South and triangular cooperation.
