ILO participates in the 21st meeting of the High-Level Committee on South-South Cooperation

From 30 May to 2 June 2023, the International Labour Organization is actively participating in the 21st meeting of the High-Level Committee on South-South Cooperation, which is being held at United Nations Headquarters in New York.  This event aims to review progress in the implementation of the Buenos Aires Plan of Action for Promoting and Implementing Technical Cooperation among Developing Countries, the New Directions Strategy for South-South Cooperation, the Nairobi outcome document of the High-Level United Nations Conference on South-South Cooperation and the Buenos Aires outcome document of the Second High-Level United Nations Conference on South-South Cooperation (BAPA+40).

During the Committee’s general debate, Anita Amorim, Head of the ILO’s Emerging and Special Partnerships Unit, reaffirmed the ILO’s role in promoting social justice, social protection and rights at work through South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC) and highlighted the importance of sharing best practices and lessons learned in these areas.
