Morocco Celebrates Africa’s Day and its South-South Cooperation Policy

Morocco celebrated on Thursday Africa’s Day and its solidarity South-South cooperation spearheaded by King Mohammed VI towards the emergence of a new, strong, stable, unified and prosperous Africa. In a keynote address, Foreign minister Nasser Bourita said under the Royal leadership, Morocco has made African integration and South-South cooperation cornerstone of its foreign policy, citing in this regard the royal speech made at the 29th African Summit convened in Addis Ababa.

The Monarch grants great importance to strengthening cooperation ties with African countries, said the minister, noting that Morocco is a committed & reliable partner, determined to counter the challenges of peace, security and socioeconomic development across the Continent.

He recalled the giant Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline project and Morocco’s contribution to ensuring food security in Africa thanks to the fertilizers supplied by OCP group.

The African continent cannot afford to remain with arms crossed watching the political, economic and social changes taking place around the world, said the minister, affirming that Morocco has been working hard with African countries to turn the challenges into growth opportunities, banking on inter-African cooperation and strong African inclusive partnership.
