Southern Voice joins UN Day for South-South Cooperation

September 14 2020: 12 September 2020 marked the United Nations’ Day for South-South Cooperation. Southern Voice congratulates our partners at UNOSSC and South-South Galaxy for a successful kick-off to a week dedicated to celebrating achievements in South-South Cooperation. Southern Voice’s most recent publications focus on SSC cases from Ecuador and Sri Lanka.

On September 10, Southern Voice network’s Chair and Distinguished Fellow at the Centre For Policy Dialogue in Bangladesh (CPD) provided the keynote address at a virtual conference titled “Expanding South-South Cooperation in an Interdependent World”. It was organised by the Colombian Presidential Agency for International Cooperation (APC-Colombia). His speech focused on the post-pandemic recovery in the Global South. It looked at weaknesses in the global architecture, which were highlighted by the pandemic. He also talked about possible ways to rethink it going forward. You can read the full presentation here.
