Tripartite Partnerships Priming Young Workers for the Labour Market in Saint Lucia

With the facilitation of the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the sponsorship of the India-UN Development Partnership Fund for South-South Cooperation via the project “Upgrading Saint Lucia’s capacity to provide impactful vocational training for marginalized youth”, the activity is an example of tripartite and cost-efficient collaboration to address the youth employment challenge.

In 2021, the Department of Labour of the Government of Saint Lucia, the Saint Lucia Employers’ Federation and the Saint Lucia Trade Union Federation joined hands with the Centre for Adolescent Renewal and Education (C.A.R.E) to pilot test new curriculum contents aimed at enhancing young trainees’ knowledge of labour laws, rights and responsibilities in the workplace and to better perform job search.
