Good Practices in South-South and Triangular Cooperation: Delivering on the Sustainable Development Goal on Good Health and Well-being

Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages is not only a fundamental right and a crucial development goal, but it is also front and center of the global COVID-19 pandemic. To achieve sustainable development, ensuring health is critical, with the understanding that most of the SDGs either directly relate to health or indirectly contribute to its advancement.

A special edition of UNOSSC’s Good Practices publication series “Good Practices in South-South and Triangular Cooperation: Delivering on the Sustainable Development Goal on Good Health and Well-being” was jointly produced by UNOSSC, PAHO/WHO, UNFPA and UNICEF. The publication presents around 40 good practices on the role and potential of South-South and triangular cooperation in delivering on the Sustainable Development Goal on Health and Well-being (SDG3).

The joint publication aims to support and promote South-South and triangular cooperation through country-to-country learning around SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), focusing on primary health care (PHC); reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health (RMNCH); the elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV & Syphilis (EMTCT); and within the overarching framework of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and health systems strengthening.
