Seventh session of the Committee on Social Development, 6–8 September 2022, Bangkok & Online

The Committee on Social Development, Seventh Session will be held at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok from 6 to 8 September 2022. The Committee session will be held virtually via videoconference. Bangkok-based representatives from member States and international organizations are welcome to participate in person at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok.

The Committee will focus on four areas of social development, namely: (1) the importance of renewing the social contract and building a resilient workforce to better respond to ongoing and emerging global trends; (2) activities and measures taken to support the implementation of the Action Plan to Strengthen Regional Cooperation on Social Protection in Asia and the Pacific, endorsed by the Committee at its sixth session in October 2020; (3) the situation of older persons, and key outcomes of the deliberations at the Asia-Pacific Intergovernmental Meeting on the Fourth Review and Appraisal of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing, to be held from 29 June to 1 July 2022; and (4) key findings of the responses to the national surveys on the status of disability-inclusive development, which will inform the High-level Intergovernmental Meeting on the Final Review of the Asian and Pacific Decade of Persons with Disabilities, 2013–2022, to be held from 18 to 20 October 2022.
